Who We Are
The British Columbia Association of Animal Massage & Bodywork Professionals originated in 2007 by a casual meeting and joining of Animal Massage Professionals in the Lower Mainland area of British Columbia. The group began reaching out to Practitioners and Therapists for both large and small animals, inviting them to join in for support and friendship.
The numbers quickly grew and it became apparent that in order for the profession to take hold and become a recognized and respected field in British Columbia (as it already was in other parts of the world), the group needed to formalize.
Hence, the British Columbia Association of Animal Massage & Bodywork Professionals became a registered, non-profit, incorporated Association in February, 2009.
Members work co-operatively with Professionals from other fields and are held to a required level of education, skill and ethical code of conduct. Working within our scope of practice, Providers do not treat, diagnose or prescribe.
